Christmas Clearance

Stopped into Target yesterday (before getting the call that a little girl was throwing up), and found that the Christmas area was 75% off. It was packed with people and product. In fact, it looked like it did before Christmas! Aisles and aisles of stuff.

I left it all. I am still working my way thru 90% off wrapping paper and gift bags from a few yrs ago!!

Toys have also begun their markdowns. Target resets each dept twice a yr and toys are done in January and July. Most of the clearanced toys were 50% off, but will go 75% off in a few weeks.

One that I did notice was the Smart Cycle Extreme for $44.xx and the games were $14.xx. Other than that, I did not look too closely. 50% off is meaningless for me.

Back At It!!

Hello all!!

October is over.
November is over.
December is just about over.

Clearly, I have been busy as I haven't gotten a chance to update this at all!!

Let's see...November and December were very good for Scentsy sales. January is fast approaching and will be twice the 1/2 off items for hostess'. A great time to stock up on gifts for cheap!!

Cub:
Oh Cub. I rarely go to this store. It is just too expensive. However, yesterday, I needed a few items for Christmas at grandmas and decided to just run to Cub instead of Target. I should have known better. On my list: items for little reubens.

Carl Budding pkt's of corned beef: Target price .54, Cub price .79
Hillshire Farm's pastrami: Target price $3.04, Cub price $3.99
Pepsi products: Target price .99/12pk after Target coupon, Cub price $1.88 after coupon

On to this week in the shopping dept.

Target:
Sobe Life Water: 10/$10. Get a $5 gift card wyb 10, so it is like .50 each if you start rolling gift cards.
Avocado's: .69 each. Great price considering when they are "in season" they are .99 each
Oscar Meyer Deli Fresh meat: $2.74 - $1/1 Target cpn = $1.74. Regular Target price is $3.04, regular Cub price is probably $3.34
Archer Farms Chips: $2.29 - .75/1 target cpn = $1.54 per bag

Christmas Clearance has started at Target. I am only looking for a tree though. I think I have paper from 3 yrs ago when it went 90% off yet!!! Clearance is currently at 50% off and it looks like it does not include the colored totes this time around.

There is a Tide Stain Remover cpn in the PG insert today that is a good one. They are on sale for $5 at WalMart and the cpn is a $3/1.

October is Fire Prevention Month

Every year over 18,000 fires are started by careless candle users. 150 people die in those fires and over $500 Million of damage is done. Crazy huh??

A company called Scentsy Wickless has a solution though. Their products are completely safe. The system consists of a warmer and a chunk of wax. The warmers are heated with a low voltage, 25 watt lightbulb. It is plenty of heat to melt the wax. The wax is a food grade pariffin wax that has a low melthing point. When fully melted, the wax will not get above 125 degrees. What this means is, even if a child spills the wax on their skin, it won't burn them. Regular candle wax can, and often does, cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns.

Just because you have kids, pets, or are clumsy doesn't mean that you can't have a good smelling house!! With 80 scents and warmers that fit any decor, they are perfect for everyone!!

Want to view a catalog?
Want to have a party? Contact me!!
Want to have a dual party? A candle party and a wine party? We can do that too!!!

Peaches and Pears

Peaches are .99/lb at Target this week.
I also found them for .99/lb at the Bloomington WalMart that just re-opened. I hae about 5 lbs here that need to be jammed up. Maybe tonight yet.

Grandma found lugs (14lbs) of pears at Hunts in Faribault for $6. Killer price on them!! I can't share a recipe for the pears b/c she is going to can them while we are at the cabin.!

Sam's Club

Saturday, I was at Sams Club and found the boneless pork tendorloins for $1.89/lb. They are just plain, not marinaded.

I picked up a 9 lb one for $12.xx. I cut it into smalller pieces, vacuumed sealed it, and froze it.

For a price comparison, Cub has the marinaded tenderloins for $6.99. I think they are 24 oz? Not a very good comparsion since I am not 100% sure on their price! But, I do know that the Sam's price is the cheapest I have seen it in a long time.

Really? A week already?

Time flies! We had a crazy busy week last week with a garage/bake sale, canning, rental turn overs, and life in general!

Today, we were equally busy, but I did want to share a recipe.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients EXCEPT for the zucchini and chocolate chips. Mix until blended, either by hand or with a mixer. Fold in the zucchini and the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased bread pan.

Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
* I used 2 zucchini and ended up with 6 cups of zucchini. I made 4 loaves total and will freeze them.
* Do not peel the zucchini, just shred it up!

Cashback at Bing.com

A while back, live.com did a cashback along with Ebay. I got some Cub gift cards from Ebay for around 25% off the face value. I got Starbucks gift cards for around 33% off face value. It was perfect timing. It was around Christmas when the coffee is greatly needed around here!!!

Anyways, www.bing.com is doing cashback right now. Go to the site, type in what you are looking for. I did Nike. A list comes up with all the stores. Click on the one that has the CASHBACK logo next to it. I am pretty sure it was the Eastbay store for this search. Look thru the stuff, get great prices.

Running Shoes

Hopefully that link works as an example. If you can see the little + sign next to the total, click on it and it will drop down a menu. It will explain the savings there.

How do I get my cashback? You can request it once you have more than $5 in the acct. I have always just had it Paypaled to me, but I am pretty sure you can request a check.

Have at it!!!!

Flour

I use a lot of flour. Much more than the average person. I buy my flour at Sam's in 25 lb bags. Infact, I just bought another bag today.

While in Rainbow earlier this week, I checked on their baking supplies. They had 25lb bags of flour. The Roundy's brand. The price? $11.56 a bag.

I paid $6.68 today at Sam's. Much better!!!!

Kohls Upgrade Site

This is a site that has Kohls items on it, but they are hidden from the main kohls.com page. Most of the stuff is fair priced and is a SCT (saved cart trick) item. The SCT is pretty simple. Add the item to your cart, sign out, but save your cart, sign back in, and most the time the items have dropped in price.

Upgrade Site

I did screw up today with a return. I had bought a pair of bermuda type dress shorts in the store a few wks ago. I then bought them online with a 30% off code. When I returned them today, I used the online receipt for some crazy reason. So now, I need to rebuy them again with a 30% off code and return on my orginal receipt. It is a $15 difference, so it is worth it in this case.

I haven't had time to look thru any Kohls stuff. Too busy baking and all that. The girls are having a sleepover tonight, so maybe then I will get some Kohls time!!!

Kohls

Kohls 30% off and free shipping starts tonight at midnight!!

Happy Shopping!!

July 12th's ads

Cub Foods:
$3.36 Twin pk of milk coupon on the front page. Makes it around $1/gallon cheaper than Target's brand.

$2.50 Kellogg's Cereal. Buy 5, get $5 off your order (cpn on front page).
5 x $2.50 = $12.50 - $5 cub cpn - $5 ($1/1 x 5 mfg insert or IP's) = $2.50 for 5 boxes.
* A while back the printable sites had the IP's. They are now expired, but Cub takes expireds.

.99 Shoppers Value Ice Cream squares (no cpn needed)

.99 18ct eggs (no cpn needed)

.99 Cub shredded or chunk cheese (no cpn needed) (this freezes well)

.99 Cub cereals (no cpn needed)

.99 Hawaiin Punch (no cpn needed)

.99/lb Hormel Always Tender Fresh Pork Roast (there is a $1 off Always Tender expired mfg insert cpn out there to use)

.99 lb Braeburn apples

.99/lb Cub fresh chicken drumsticks or thighs

$3.48 Gold'N Plump boneless/skinless split chicken breasts (20 oz pkg). (There is a $1.50 expired IP for this in PDF form. $3.48 - $1.50 = $1.98)

* Just a price check note:
Today I needed yeast. A jar of Bread Machine Rapid Rise was $3.99 at Target. The same jar was $6.99 at Cub. YIKES!!!

Target:
$6 each Coppertone Sunscreen. There is a $3/1 mfg PDF out there for sure, and possibly a $5/1. Google it!!

$1.99/lb Strawberries. There is a $1/1 TQ to get them cheaper. The 2 lb containers are $3.79 - $1/1 TQ. Now, you could price match to Cub Foods price of $1.50/lb, but I am not sure how they work it with coupons. Sometimes Target gets goofy with their own cpns and their rules.

$3.49 Finish/Electrasol dishwasher tabs. There is a $2.50/1 mfg insert out there. They go for big bucks on Ebay, but if you can find some on a clipping site, they are worth it. Makes them .99 a box!!!

Boudreaux's Butt Paste: It used to be in the travel section for .99. If it is still there, there is a $1/1 mfg insert cpn in the inserts this week making it free.

Kids are falling apart!! Need to get them into bed!

Cabin Trip

We spent a short, but good, weekend at the cabin.

Dead trees came down, brush piles were burned, weeds were cut down, lightbulbs were changed, etc.

We will be heading back the first week in August for a full week. It should be a nice time!!

I am going to try to get this weeks shopping list up tonight. There are some good buys!!!

Kohls

Kohls is at it again!!

July 15-22nd there will be a 30% off code for online purchases.

If you are thinking about ordering something, hold off and wait until that code is valid!

Pampers - Target

Last week, a coupon came out in the inserts for Pampers. It is a Target cpn, but is not printable.

$3 off when you buy Pampers diapers and wipes (160ct).

The expiration date is well into October, so I went ahead and order a bunch off of Ebay. I figured that at some point between now and October, they will do a gift card deal on Pampers Jumbos.

Let's say that the deal is Buy 2, get a $5 gift card.

9.99 x 2 = $19.98
Minus $2 mfg insert x 2 = -$4

That alone puts it at $15.98 for 2 jumbos. Minus the $5 gift card makes it $10.98. Now minus the $3 and you are at $7.98.

You do need to buy the wipes, but there are usually decent wipe cpns out there too.
